Origin Iran, format 170 × 244 cm — a Moud made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 4.15 m² (5.6' × 8'). Moud rugs are known for their fine Herati pattern.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
