About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Moud of 172 × 235 cm. That is roughly 4.04 m² of floor, about 5.6' × 7.7'. Moud rugs are known for their fine Herati pattern.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
