The piece in short
Origin Iran, format 110 × 164 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 1.8 m² of floor, about 3.6' × 5.4'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
