About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 157 × 255 cm. The covered area is about 4 m² (5.2' × 8.4'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
