Overview
Origin Iran, format 162 × 205 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. It covers approximately 3.32 m², or 5.3' × 6.7'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
