About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 177 × 250 cm. That is roughly 4.43 m² of floor, about 5.8' × 8.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
