Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 196 × 150 cm. It covers approximately 2.94 m², or 6.4' × 4.9'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Stated material: 10% silk, 100% cotton, 100% wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 8 mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
