Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 200 × 295 cm. That is roughly 5.9 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 9.7'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
