Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 249 × 352 cm. It covers approximately 8.76 m², or 8.2' × 11.5'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
