About this rug
A Nain from Iran, measuring 60 × 40 cm. That is roughly 0.24 m² of floor, about 2' × 1.3'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as Normal.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. Small enough to sit in front of a dresser or just inside a door.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under multicolour. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age
Stated condition: new.
