About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 80 × 300 cm. The covered area is about 2.4 m² (2.6' × 9.8'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
This size typically covers the floor in front of a seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
