Origin Iran, format 201 × 209 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 4.2 m² (6.6' × 6.9'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.

Where it fits

The rug is square. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

Colour and appearance

Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
