Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 239 × 167 cm. The covered area is about 3.99 m² (7.8' × 5.5'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as Hochflor.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Colour and appearance
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
