The piece in short
A Nain from Iran, measuring 250 × 160 cm. It covers approximately 4 m², or 8.2' × 5.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Pile material is given as wool, silk, warp as Kunstseide. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
Condition
Stated condition: Neu.
