Origin Iran, format 179 × 119 cm — a Qom made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 2.13 m² (5.9' × 3.9'). Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as approx. 7 kg.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

It is catalogued under multicolour. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
Age and condition
Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
