The piece in short
A Sarouk from Iran, measuring 247 × 354 cm. That is roughly 8.74 m² of floor, about 8.1' × 11.6'. Sarouk rugs are known for dense knotting and floral motifs.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Condition
Stated condition: ca. 100 Jahre.
