About this rug
A Tabriz from India, measuring 243 × 304 cm. It covers approximately 7.39 m², or 8' × 10'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
