About this rug
Hand-knotted in India: a Tabriz of 247 × 300 cm. It covers approximately 7.41 m², or 8.1' × 9.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
Age and condition
Stated condition: new.
