At a glance
Origin Iran, format 205 × 289 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 5.92 m² of floor, about 6.7' × 9.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
