Overview
This Tabriz comes from Iran and measures 244 × 329 cm. The covered area is about 8.03 m² (8' × 10.8'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is multicolour. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
