Overview

A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 290 × 196 cm. That is roughly 5.68 m² of floor, about 9.5' × 6.4'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

The pile is Handgesponnene Wolle, on a warp of cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted. Weight is given as ap. 18 kg.

The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
