The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 80 × 253 cm. It covers approximately 2.02 m², or 2.6' × 8.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Pile material is given as 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, warp as 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
