Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 152 × 208 cm. It covers approximately 3.16 m², or 5' × 6.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% Schurwolle mit Seide in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
