The piece in short

Origin Iran, format 253 × 339 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 8.58 m² of floor, about 8.3' × 11.1'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Materials and construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
