The piece in short
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 253 × 349 cm. That is roughly 8.83 m² of floor, about 8.3' × 11.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
Construction
Pile material is given as 100% new wool, warp as 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
How it reads
The stated colourway is red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
