Overview
A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 294 × 83 cm. The covered area is about 2.44 m² (9.6' × 2.7'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: 100% wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 8 mm.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
