The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 304 × 200 cm. That is roughly 6.08 m² of floor, about 10' × 6.6'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.
What it is made of
Stated material: Korkwolle&Seide auf Seide.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is Lila / Pink. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
