Materials and construction
Construction: wool in the pile over a cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap.26kg.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
Age and condition
Stated age: antique. As an antique piece, condition should be judged against its age.
