Origin Iran, format 397 × 305 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 12.11 m² (13' × 10'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

Construction: Handgesponnene Wolle in the pile over a cotton foundation. It is entirely hand-knotted. Weight is given as ap. 35 kg.

The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

How it reads

The stated colourway is red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
