Weft material is given as wool, warp as cotton. It is entirely hand-woven. Weight is given as ap. 6 kg.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

How it is made

Woven pieces of this kind are thin, reversible, and much lighter than knotted rugs.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.

Condition

Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
