Overview
A Heriz from Iran, measuring 241 × 340 cm. It covers approximately 8.19 m², or 7.9' × 11.2'. Heriz rugs usually carry a bold, angular central medallion.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
It is catalogued under red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
