At a glance
This Heriz comes from Iran and measures 256 × 326 cm. That is roughly 8.35 m² of floor, about 8.4' × 10.7'. Heriz rugs usually carry a bold, angular central medallion.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
