Overview
A Heriz from Iran, measuring 273 × 355 cm. The covered area is about 9.69 m² (9' × 11.6'). Heriz rugs usually carry a bold, angular central medallion.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². This knot density balances pattern definition against hard-wearing construction.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
