Overview
Origin Iran, format 285 × 390 cm — a Heriz made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 11.12 m² (9.4' × 12.8'). Heriz rugs usually carry a bold, angular central medallion.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is under 200,000 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
