A Heriz from Iran, measuring 390 × 145 cm. That is roughly 5.66 m² of floor, about 12.8' × 4.8'. Heriz rugs usually carry a bold, angular central medallion.
Materials and construction
Construction: wool, silk in the pile over a cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 12 kg.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
