Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 100 × 156 cm. The covered area is about 1.56 m² (3.3' × 5.1'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
On the colourway
The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
