Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Isfahan of 105 × 160 cm. The covered area is about 1.68 m² (3.4' × 5.2'). Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 800,000–899,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
On the colourway
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
