About this rug
This Isfahan comes from Iran and measures 151 × 217 cm. It covers approximately 3.28 m², or 5' × 7.1'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 600,000–699,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
