Origin Iran, format 309 × 395 cm — a Isfahan made entirely by hand. That is roughly 12.21 m² of floor, about 10.1' × 13'. Isfahan has stood for exceptionally fine knotting for centuries.

Construction

The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.

Size and placement

The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.

How it reads

Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
