The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashan of 315 × 415 cm. The covered area is about 13.07 m² (10.3' × 13.6').
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. At this size the rug defines the room rather than accenting it.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
Age and condition
Stated condition: ca. 100 Jahre.
