Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashan of 416 × 300 cm. The covered area is about 12.48 m² (13.6' × 9.8').
Materials and construction
The pile is wool, on a warp of cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Weight is given as ap. 30 kg.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
Age
Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
