The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashmar of 200 × 192 cm. The covered area is about 3.84 m² (6.6' × 6.3'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as Hochflor.
Size and placement
The rug is square. Large enough to hold a full seating group.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
Age
Stated condition: 21st century.
