The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kerman of 404 × 522 cm. The covered area is about 21.09 m² (13.3' × 17.1'). Kerman is associated with soft colour transitions and floral compositions.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. It is entirely hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
How it reads
Colour is recorded as multicolour. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
