The piece in short
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 103 × 147 cm. The covered area is about 1.51 m² (3.4' × 4.8'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
