Overview
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 110 × 160 cm. That is roughly 1.76 m² of floor, about 3.6' × 5.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
