About this rug
Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 130 × 204 cm. The covered area is about 2.65 m² (4.3' × 6.7'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
Materials and construction
The pile is 100% Schurwolle mit Seide, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Format and use
The rug is rectangular. The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.
On the knot count
The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
Colour and appearance
Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
