Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 132 × 195 cm. The covered area is about 2.57 m² (4.3' × 6.4'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Construction: 100% new wool in the pile over a 100% cotton foundation. Construction method: hand-knotted.
Where it fits
The rug is rectangular. This size typically covers the floor in front of a seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
How it reads
It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
