Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 135 × 89 cm. That is roughly 1.2 m² of floor, about 4.4' × 2.9'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. Construction method: hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 8 mm.
Size and placement
The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.
Fineness of the knotting
The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
