Overview
A Nain from Iran, measuring 154 × 231 cm. The covered area is about 3.56 m² (5.1' × 7.6'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.
What it is made of
The pile is 100% new wool, on a warp of 100% cotton. The rug was hand-knotted throughout.
Where it fits
Large enough to hold a full seating group.
Knot density and quality
The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.
Colour and appearance
The stated colourway is blue / Türkis. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
