Hossein Erami Qom silk, “Golfarang – Tak Gardeh”, 200 x 125 cm
200 x 125 cm, 2.50 square metres, 72.1 Raj, 2,729,000 knots, 100% silk. Woven by the Hossein Erami workshop in Qom.
One of a pair, sold singly
This rug was woven alongside a slightly larger companion at 207 x 134 cm in the same Golfarang Tak Gardeh drawing and the same 72.1 Raj. They are offered separately as well as together. Pieces woven in parallel on adjacent looms share their dye lots, which is not something that can be arranged after the fact – if you want two rugs that genuinely match, this is how it is done.
Golfarang
Golfarang is the rose-centred floral repertoire of Persian weaving, naturalistic rather than stylised. Tak Gardeh sets it around a single central medallion with an open field and no corner pieces.
Placement and care
Two and a half square metres: a hall, a study, or the foot of a bed. Avoid sustained direct sun, vacuum with suction only, rotate occasionally.
